Let's start simple

What is labradorite?

Labradorite is a feldspar named after Labrador in Canada, where it was described in the 1770s. Inside it are extremely thin layers that bend light, so when you tilt it, a hidden flash of colour appears, then vanishes. That play of colour is called labradorescence. Madagascar and Finland are major sources today.

Because its colour only shows from the right angle, it became a symbol of hidden potential and seeing beyond the surface.

"Labradorite looks grey until the light finds it. Some people are like that too."
